Fildena 100mg N10 (Sildenafil)

Fildena 100 tablet is used for the treatment of erectile dysfunction in men. Erectile dysfunction is a medical condition where men are unable to produce or maintain an erection. Along with sexual stimulation, Fildena helps fill the penis with blood by relaxing the muscles in blood vessels and increasing blood flow to the penis which then leads to an erection. Note that this drug will not produce an erection without the help of sexual stimulation.

Dosage

An initial dose of 50mg Fildena is recommended, taken orally about an hour prior to sexual activity. The dose may be adjusted, either lowered to 25mg or increased to 100mg, depending on its efficacy and tolerability for every individual.

The maximum dose of Fildena is 100mg per day.

Fildena may be taken with or without food. But if taken with food, especially with foods high in fat, the onset of efficacy may be delayed.

Men should always begin with a lower dose of Fildena if:

• Age is older than 65
• Serious kidney or liver problems is present
• Alpha blocker medications are taken
  

This medication is recommended to be taken by men aged 18 above with erectile dysfunction and not for children and women. This medication is not an aphrodisiac and does not protect individuals from sexually transmitted diseases.

Side effects

Fildena 100 may cause mild to moderate side effects which only last a few hours. The common side effects which occur in only 2% of individuals taking this medication are, but not limited to the following:

• Headache
• Dizziness
• Diarrhea
• Dyspepsia
• Nasal congestion
• Flushing (redness, warmth)
• Urinary tract infection
• Respiratory tract infection
• Rash
• Back pain or muscle pain
• Abnormal vision (blurred or change in color vision)

Taking of Fildena must be stopped and medical help is urgently needed if the following are experienced:

• Sudden vision loss or decrease in vision
• Sudden hearing loss or ringing in the ears
• Painful and prolonged erection
• Heat attack symptoms (chest pain, nausea, sweating, pain spreading to jaw or shoulder)
• Irregular heartbeat
• Swelling in hands, feet and ankles
• Shortness of breath
• Seizure
• Lightheadedness

Seek immediate medical help if an allergic reaction to Fildena occurs characterized by difficulty in breathing, hives, swelling of face, lips, tongue or throat.

An immediate medical attention is also needed for men who have erection that lasts more than 4 hours. Priapism or prolonged erection can cause permanent damage to the penis if this side effect is ignored.

Contraindications

Men allergic to Fildena, its active ingredient Sildenafil and all its inactive ingredients, must not take this medication.

Fildena is contraindicated in men taking nitrate medications and any of its form, such as those for hypertension or recreational drugs because Sildenafil increases the hypotensive effects of nitrates. This drug should not be taken by men being treated for pulmonary arterial hypertension with Riociguat.

It is also contraindicated in men not allowed to engage in sexual activity due to certain health reasons.

Warnings and Precautions

It is important to check with a health care provider before taking Fildena. This drug has effects that may aggravate certain medical conditions.

Advise the doctor for any of the following conditions before taking Fildena:

• Heart disease
• History of stroke, heart attack or congestive heart failure
• Low or high blood pressure
• Liver or kidney problems
• Blood cell disorder or bleeding disorder
• Stomach ulcer
• Retinitis pigmentosa
• Deformed penis (Peyronie’s disease)

Advise a health care provider of any other medications being taken to avoid drug interaction that may cause adverse effects.

Fildena and Alcohol

Taking Fildena 100 with alcohol may cause undesirable effects as both can cause lowering of blood pressure.
